It has come to my attention that certain sellers on Ruby Lane are claiming dolls and other items created by other artists as their own work, incorporating them into their shops as though they created the pieces. The site enables these sellers to pass off artist-created dolls as their own, simply because they do not attribute the works to the respective artists. When I filed a copyright infringement claim with Ruby Lane, their answer was unsatisfactory and vague. They told me to go contact the seller, without actually addressing the copyright issue. I contacted the seller, but my attempts to communicate were ignored, even after informing the seller through numerous phone calls and emails that they had been reported. This is all too commonplace. These sellers acquire original works on Etsy, eBay, and other platforms, then put together storefronts and sell the pieces without acknowledging the name of the true artist.
