Utahjobs.gov accused me of fraud for quitting a job
I accepted a job in Utah and was guaranteed compensation. But the first payday came, and I was told there was no check because, in their words, the company’s clock was not working correctly. It became obvious that there would be no payment, and in my frustration, I walked off the job.
In applying for unemployment benefits, I told Victoria the company was not compensating me, in essence, forcing me to do work for no pay. I also escalated the issue to the Utah Labor Commission. Even after this, I was accused of fraud under the pretense of the fact that no payment would be issued, but in turn, they claimed I would need to return payment that was never actually provided. This is classic harassment.
