Exceed Auto Brokers Advertising Misrepresentation, Fraud, Deceit
Recently purchased a 2015 VW Beetle that arrived almost three weeks after the purchase and was supposed to have all recalls completed. However, the only recall that is necessary is still open and uncompleted, and the vehicle leaks oil all over the driveway and cannot be driven because it lacks the necessary temporary tags and plates. After numerous messages and emails were sent to the salesperson, Eddie, he has refused to address any of these issues. Eddie refuses my requests for the owner’s contact information despite my repeated requests.
As a follow-up to the aforementioned statement, I have now finished the repairs necessary to make this 2015 VW Beetle roadworthy and enable it to undergo the necessary state inspections in Texas.
I have paid invoices of almost $750 that I will attach. The vehicle was found to have extensive front end damage after the state inspection, and when it was repaired, it was put back together without a passenger side turn signal connector or bulb, which needed to be wired in. It was also missing the entire wiper system, including the bottle, pump hoses, and connector, which needed to be installed by removing the front bumper. To pass the State of Texas inspections, both of these things are necessary.
This came after I had to spend $136 to fix a significant oil leak that had occurred when the car was being delivered from the dealer and was spewing oil all over my driveway.
Evidently, the dealer didn’t want me to be able to take the automobile to an inspection station when I received it, which is why they decided against putting a temporary licence plate on the car.
Since I bought the car, “Eddie” the salesman has not gotten in touch with me, and I doubt he ever will.
The seller informed me at the time of purchase that this vehicle was ready to go and needed absolutely NOTHING, so if he had completely disclosed these concerns, I wouldn’t have purchased it.
To ensure I wouldn’t have to do anything after delivery, he even promised to take the vehicle to his neighbourhood VW dealer to get all recalls resolved.
Even though “Eddie” assured me the recalls were actually finished, he took it to the dealer nevertheless, who didn’t conduct any since they were out of components.
My recommendation is to avoid this dealer since, as seen in my scenario, they misrepresent the automobiles. Once they have your money, you will receive the vehicle AS-IS and won’t hear from them again.
Evidently, they do not value repeat business!
