ASSIST tried to scam me of $10k
Assist of Portland was sent my application for ssi/ssd. Later on, I did get approved and received a letter regarding my back pay responsibilities. Case manger Bianca told me that my backpay date had unfortunately changed. She also advised me that I am not allowed to call the federal SSI office directly. It’s a good thing I did, because they told me that my backpay hadn’t changed at all, and ASSIST was not able to instruct clients not to reach out to the offices directly. I wish for everyone to know how these people tried to take advantage of me. I’m smart enough not to allow them to control me, in which case, they had it wrong with me.
